ANTI Music Row November 17, 2008 This is a great record. When I heard the first few bars I was convinced it was not a Nashville production. What a fresh breath of air!!!! No redundant intros and turn-arounds that Nashville is famous for. The music, the vocals, the arrangements... all top notch!!!!! I was hoping someone would break the mold and do something new and different and Glen has done that. CONGRATS!!!
Meet Glen Campbell November 11, 2008 I have always been a hugh fan of Glen since 1967. I have met him backstage seven times since 1967. I think this latest album is one of the best he has ever done. "Reunion" (1974) used to be my all time favorite until this one. That you so much for providing it in CD and album form. Phillip
A Fabulous CD ! November 8, 2008 Simply put--instead of opting for those overplayed oldies and redoing them like Rod Stewart,Barry Manilow and others have done;Glen has taken contemporary songwriters like Tom Petty, members of U2,Lou Reed,John Lennon, and Jackson Browne and has given his interpretation to songs that I had not heard of before.Glen's guitar playing and voice are so good it's hard to believe that he is 72 years old. Take a look at the inside photo of Glen, maybe he's found the fountain of youth. My hope is that this recording gets the play it deserves.
Glen still got it. November 4, 2008 I happened to hear a song on the radio from this CD the cover of the U2 song All I Want is you. It made me stop and take notice when they said it was Glen Campbell I was surprised but I actually thought that was who it sounded like. This is a great treat from Tom Petty covers to Green Day it is as good as anything in the Jimmy Webb catalog that he has ever recorded. You will not be disappointed at all.
Meet Glen Campbell CD and Vinyl LP October 31, 2008 It is evident to me Glen Campbell has never lost his voice or ability to create a distinct sound with his guitar and those he chooses to produce his arrangements. Glen Campbell as long as he desires to be in his profession will never dissappoint his viewing and listening audience. These recordings prove he is a progressive talent and continues to release material with a great message and melodic format. There are few performers in his business that can do this decade after decade. I hope he lives to be 120 years old. We need more like him. Meet Glen Campbell: Pure Glen Campbell with a twist of 2008 depth regarding production and industry concepts. Roy Ridenour
