Product Description 3-1/2" x 14". Steel shell, triple-flanged 1.6mm hoops, deluxe throw-off. This piccolo has a bright yet sensitive and full-bodied tone that's great for percussive applications like big band where you need to cut through the mix....

THIS ITEM ROCKS!!!! May 3, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is my first ever review. I cannot help but comment on the quality and great sound from a snare that sells for this price! Put a bounce dryer sheet between the snares and bottom head and you will be amazed! A+ product!
Phenomenal Offer March 8, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm a highschool freshman. I've been taking music class in school for 3 years on an old beat up used snare that I had to purchase for around 50 dollars through our only local music store. This year, I joined our marching band's drumline as a bass drummer, and really got into the whole idea. I wanted a new concert-style snare to practice for Percussion Ensemble (which I also joined this year), and I found this offer. I was so happy to purchase this product. I was amazed that it's in relatively perfect shape frame-wise, and that the adjuster switch for the snares is sturdy and easy to flip on a dime. Naturally, this sounded like crap when I first got it (but I was expecting that), so I took the head completely off and re-tuned the whole thing. Now, it sounds just as I'd like it to be, and also has a decent sized head without being a pain to put on a stand.
I really really like this drum. I recommend it thoroughly.

Get this drum!
Pros-The steel shell is very excellent, heavy duty and it is an extreme bargain! I would recommend this to a recreational drummer, not a professional, but don't get me wrong if you want it can be used for serious playing, EXTREME BARGAIN!!
Cons-(not to serious)- BEFORE you tune it has a slight ring and "slur" to the beats, not a crisp clean sound, here's a tip- if you can't get it tuned just place circular cut out of a mute or something with a smooth, or felt bottom it will solve the problem(2.5' diameter will do)but just tune it and their will be no problem! So this is why I wouldn't recommend it to serious drummers
but all in all I would seriously recommend this drum
Nice piccolo for the price June 22, 2006 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
Honestly if you buy this snare, you will need to make adjustments right away. At the least, you will need to replace the top (batter) head, and the tension rods. I just bought my snare on 6-8-06 and had to send it back to have it replaced (two tension rods broke inside the lug, and two warped when I tried to retune it) but when I first got it, I replaced the top head with a powerstroke 3, and the snares with puresound blasters...and it has a nice pop!!!! I also got the die cast hoops for it. I plan to change the snare throwoff and replace the lugs in the future. You'll definitely have to spend more money to make this snare a great one. I'd say buy it if you plan to spend more money on it, otherwise save up for something better.
