Easy to use, not boring, great results November 19, 2008 Attaches to your door knob, works all arm muscles and wonderful for abs. Your using your body weight for resistance.Tone not build
Use this for parts only. August 31, 2008 Like most other reviewers, I had the nylon rope with nylon pulley's that finally broke. Couldn't find anything like it so got this even with all the bad reviews. For 10 bucks, it was worth the try. The ropes are way too short and I'm only 5'3". But....the pulley's are great. I took the thing apart and used the pulley's on my nylon ropes and also changed the knob attachment. It works fine now, when I use it!
Great Idea, POOR MATERIAL June 10, 2008 This is a great idea if you want to exercise at home BUT it's a shame they use such CHEAP material in order to make this item. The rope wears off VERY quickly. In the first few exercises your face will already be full of black shredded pieces from the rope which gets in your mouth and eyes and drives you CRAZY. So stupid!! Also, AMAZON sent me an used one which is so obvious once you look at it. Shame on Amazon. Item was supposed to be brand new. The rope is also damaged. It really shows it has been used. Ridiculous. The reason why I will not send it back it's because its not worthy the headache and time wait for another one for the $11.99 value. Shame on Amazon, Shame on Ballys for making such a cheap item. I guess you get what you pay for...
Bally Door Know exerciser July 29, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this product and it works great, however,it shaves black pieces of plastic in your face. I find this a bit annoying. I used to have one similar 20 years ago and lost a lot of weight using it. But, for some reason, it's not the rope shaving bits off...it's at the pulley top. I changed the rope, then found out it was in the pulley. My suggestion is wear a ball cap when using.
A simple, yet effective device. April 5, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I had something similar to this when I was a kid and I used it consistently. The construction quality of this one seems to be higher than the one I remember using 20 years ago. I would recommend this to a sedentary person who needs some activity, but not to someone hoping to get a cardiovascular workout or to bulk up. I had my fingers and toes amputated, so there aren't really a lot of options for me. The included instructions don't really give you a wide range of exercises to do with this, so for it to be effective you may have to invent some new ones with some trial and error. When it wears out (it appears it may be awhile), I will buy another one.
