My in-laws are nice enough to give me Amazon gift cards every year for Christmas. I decided to put my gift money towards an expensive hair straightener. I straighten my hair almost daily, so I might as well make it as easy as possible. I've used crappy straighteners purchased from Wal-Mart or drug stores for years. I felt ready to upgrade after all that frustration.
I was a little nervous ordering through Amazon based on several other reviews I've read about faulty straighteners and difficulty obtaining replacements. But, I've had this straightener for almost a year with no problems. It really does a great job (worlds better than any crappy Conair I've tried in the past). It is much faster and more effective than the cheaper models. I'm quite pleased.

I cannot really review this product, as I'm sure it is great, but God help you if you have to return a product from this company. I bought one of these expensive irons as a gift and she'd already gotten one, so I thought I'd return it, no big deal... well I was wrong. They wrap their products in an impossible tissue paper and then tell you that you cannot return it unless it is in basically immaculate condition. Needless to say I am trying to sell the one I bought now.

I bought these but returned them. Quality was good however maybe for someone who didn't need to use straightners every day or have a strong curl. I need to use every day and didn't find them powerful enough for my hair so returned...

I like my FHI, but I'm not sure it was worth the money. I have very long, thick, wavy, frizzy hair. The FHI has cut maybe 10 minute off my straightening time of at least an hour. I still have to straighten in very small sections and go over them about 3 times, the same as I did with my cheapo straightener. I do however LOVE that the cord never gets tangled, because of the swivel.
I think I would really like a ceramic Straightener with a 3" plate.

I am so excited. For years I Have struggled with my coarse, thick, hair. I have tried so many styles and products to get my hair straight, only to end up with overprocessed, dried out hair that felt like hay. Stylists have always told me I have the thickest head of hair they ever seen, plus my scalp was always too sensitive for a relaxer to process. Needless to say, I have always had grief over my hair, so much so, that I even had dreadlocks for 4 years. This iron saved my life!! I finally went out, bought salon quality shampoo and conditioner, plus an ionic blow dryer and this product, and for the first time ever, I made my hair beautiful and healthy!!!! I spent almost $200 in all, but it is well worth the investment to not have to sit in someone else's chair every week to get great results.If your like me with unruly hair .
