Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
The men of the prominent Deveraux clan knew plenty about romance, and Lucien Deveraux was the biggest player of all. But that changed after Hurricane Katrina devastated his beloved city. Now Lucien's ready to dedicate himself to one woman: Nicole Argonne. Trouble is, Nicole has no time for what she calls "pretty men." If Lucien wants her, he needs to prove himself…and Nicole's not going to make it easy.

Lucien is sexy, smart and charming—just like the man who broke Nicole's heart before. But Lucien has his own plan to win her. And when his scheming ex arrives in town, Nicole must decide whether she has the courage to trust again.…

5 out of 5 stars Love this series   December 13, 2008
True to form Lucien Devereaux is simply irresistible. He saw Nicole for the second time at the Judge and Julian's double wedding and knew instantly she was the woman he would spend the rest of his life with.
The problem is convincing Nicole. Due to a bad experience in the past, Nicole has sworn of handsome men, but who can resist the Devereaux charm?
Nicole soon finds out it ain't easy.
It was nice to revisit the Cochran/Devereaux clan and I can't wait for the next installment. To me it was worth the wait!

This book was well worth the wait. I love the Cochran/Deveraux stories and this one did not disappoint. Lucien knew that Nicole was the one for him just like his father, his brother and cousins knew that their wives was the one for them.

This was a great read and I can't wait for the next Cochran/Deveraux story.

2 out of 5 stars Not what I waited for.....   November 25, 2008

I am a avid reader of Melanie Schuster and have waited almost two years for this latest installment of the Cochran/Deveraux. I was deeply disappointed with her effort.

As a life long resident of New Orleans I was glad to see my beloved city the focal part of the book but, that is where my adoration for this book ends.

I found the character's flat lacking in true depth. The story developed unlike all the previous books. What I loved most about Melanie's book is that you saw the couple court and fall in love. It was never a matter of days or even weeks, but a real true life relationship. In each of the prior books there was always some challenge the couple must over come to make the relationship work. Be it the lost of a child, a betrayal, an accident or a secret son. The trial in this relationship was barley a blip on the radar.

This book was also the shortest in the series. I pray in the book to come that the next Deveraux in line to marry will be what I have come to love.
