Product Description The Dual-Band Wireless-N Gaming Adapter gives wireless connection capabilities to any wired Ethernet-equipped game console. The Game Adapter can be used in several different ways. If you have an existing home wireless network and a cable or DSL Internet connection, the Game Adapter lets your Xbox, Xbox 360, PlayStation 2 or 3, or GameCube attach to the network so you can get into online games without running wires to the game room. Or, use a pair of Game Adapters to form a "cable-less cable" between two game consoles for head-to-head gaming - in the same room, or all the way across the house. There's also a special "Wireless LAN Party" mode to connect several consoles at once. It's completely driver-free, so it works on any platform. Since there are no drivers to load, setup is a snap. Just configure the network settings through your PC's web browser, plug it into your game box, and go. The Dual-Band Wireless-N Gaming Adapter provides lag-free gaming with incredible communication speeds when connected to a Wireless-N Access Point or Router. It can also connect to Wireless-A, -B, or -G devices.Spend your time gaming, not stringing wires, with the Linksys Dual-Band Wireless-N Gaming Adapter.

Direct TV On Demand Users December 5, 2008 This is a great choice to wireless connect your system to the internet especially if you didn't think to hard wire every point in your house to accomplish this. Direct TV recommends this item to do so and it was very easy to set up with the on screen directions. I of course had to purchase a new router also to do this but that was also one of the reasons I was shopping for this item.
Linksys Dual-Band Wireless-N Gaming Adapter review November 24, 2008 Excellent performance once you complete the setup. I had some trouble during the initial setup but finally did it.
Great solution November 22, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have an XBOX 360 that I've been using as a media extender in my living room, with the 360 wireless adapter. I've been streaming all of my TV in HD from my home computer to the XBOX and the wireless-A protocol was pretty much borderline. According to the Media Center tuning graph, I never really got up to HD spec, although I've been muddling along.
I used this little device to support the wireless-n protocol for my XBOX and it's blown the tuning graph away. The line has literally flat-lined at the top of the graph. Exactly the result I was hoping for. I would have given it a five if it was a little bit cheaper and a bit easier to set-up, but nonetheless I'm quite happy with it.
Note: I'm using it with the D-Link DGL-4500 wireless router.
Works Well November 10, 2008 I had to follow the instructions on another reviwer, entitled "Advanced configuration directions," but other than that...this device works well. I have not had to unplug it to reboot it once. I use it with my PS3 for N speeds. My PS3 would disconnect during online play over my G network. I have not experienced any dropouts of the N network.
Important for DirecTV subscribers! October 31, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I just wasted an hour trying to set this up through my PC while getting error message after error message.
If you're trying to hook this up to your DirecTV box (HR-21) to get on-demand content, you DO NOT have to set up the adapter through a pc.
Simply connect the device to your HR-21's network port, plug it in, and click DirecTV's menu button. Go to "Set-up," then down to "Network." Answer the questions, and in less than a minute, you should be up and running.
The latest update to DirecTV boxes provides immediate plug-and-play access with the adapter.
Hope I saved someone else a lot of time!
