Great battery August 22, 2008
We have only used the camera for a few months, but this battery last foreever!! It charges quickly and the cost make this the only battery to buy and use with our Canon camera! It is large hanging off the end of the camera, but it never gets in the way and seems to last forever on one charge! Why is the Canon battery three times the cost?

The small battery supplied with my Canon DV camcorder does not last long enough so I bought this alternative and find that it provides plenty of power for a day in the field. lasts for hours.

I bought this battery for my Canon HV20 camcorder. The battery arrived 4 days earlier than Amazon's estimate. The battery is brand new, with retail package. Amazon lists this battery as 1500-mAh, BP-2L12 equivalent. But in fact the battery is 1900-mAh, which is even better! And it is bigger than the Canon BP-2L13 battery that comes with the camcorder. I assume it is actually equivalent to Canon BP-2L14 (The description on the package says it is Canon NB-2L12/NB-2L14 equivalent). It also comes with a terminal cover. Tested on my camcorder, everything worked fine, so far so good. Only time can tell how reliable this battery is. But I have used a generic battery on my Canon Digital Rebel for about four years and haven't got any problem. This $11 (including shipping) battery, which is just one fifth of the price of a Canon BP-2L14, is a great value!
