Great buy! November 5, 2008 I wasn't sure if I would like or use the BellaBand when I purchased it. I am happy to report that I am 11 weeks and use it daily! I actually began using it at 8 weeks- just to relieve the pressure of the top button on my pants. It basically looks just like I have a tank under my tops. I purchased the white band and find that it goes with everything. This is a must have!
A great idea that just doesn't quite work... November 1, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Every woman who's ever been pregnant has been faced with the dilemma of maternity clothes: To buy, or not to buy? In these financially challenging times, the temptation not to buy is very strong. And I wish I could report that the BellaBand is a solution to your first- and second-trimester wardrobe woes, but I can't.
I bought one as soon as I found out I was pregnant, and pretty soon I was putting it to use. But not for long. After a couple weeks of struggling, I put it in the closet and didn't use it again. When I got pregnant, I was no waif -- about a size 14 -- and maybe it works better for skinnier women. On me, it just didn't cut it. It rolled down; it rolled up; it never felt secure. I always felt as if I were one false move away from my pants falling down. It was a real disappointment.
If you're reading this review with a baby on the way, you're probably wondering what I did do. Well, since properly-fitting maternity pants for non-skinny women are nearly impossible to come by, I learned how to make do. Since the BellaBand couldn't salvage my pre-pregnancy jeans, I sprang for Gap jeans with an elastic top. I wore almost nothing else through most of my pregnancy. I'd never worn plus-sized clothes, but I discovered that 1X-2X plus-size clothes with elastic waists were nearly as good as correctly sized pregnancy clothes, and often much, much cheaper.
Sorry, zaftig ladies. I wish I had better news for you. Perhaps others have had better luck, but I can't recommend the BellaBand.
Very comfortable! November 1, 2008 I purchased this product late in my second pregnancy. I had already outgrown 2 other of the belt-type supports, which were bulky and had velcro that snagged my clothing. The BellaBand was especially helpful in hiding my belly that began peeking out from under most of my shirts at around 8 months. It also provided enough support to help soothe the burning feeling which I assume was my skin stretching. When less support is desired, you can simply roll or fold the BellaBand down. I wish I had purchased one of these earlier!
Great product October 27, 2008 This band helped stretch my wardrobe by letting me wear my regular pants longer and also letting me wear maternity pants when they were still too big and loose. I'm pregnant with my 4th and wish I had one of these with my first 3 pregancy's! My only reason for not giving 5 stars is that I wish the price was a bit more affordable so that I could get a couple in different colors.
Belly Band October 16, 2008 I liked the concept, and it worked well just walking around, but getting in and out of a car, sitting down and getting back up, etc. made it ride up and I was constantly readjusting the band...I finally gave up and bought materntity pants. Maybe I had a size too big?
